My husband, Bill and I, have been volunteering in the Ludoteca for about 5 months.

During this short period of time, we have learned so much about Ecuador through the children and their parents. It is a privilege to be able to put a smile on a child's face or hear the laughter from another child when you know how boring that hospital bed can be.

Just a simple coloring sheet or puzzle or even reading a book in our limited Spanish makes us happy and brings the small patients at least a small burst of happiness - one that we hope will last a while.

We enjoy being a part of the Ecuador Fundacion. Thank you for the opportunity!
